Public broadcaster's web portal celebrates 20th birthday
Ljubljana - The web portal of the public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, which provides a number of online services, video, audio, picture and textual content, interactive apps, websites and services for persons with disabilities, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The content, services and apps of the Multimedia Centre (MMC) of RTV Sovenija currently have 250,000 users on a daily basis and more than 650,000 on a monthly basis, the public broadcaster said on the occasion.
The web portal attracts more than three million views per day, and the average daily time a visitor spends browsing the site is more than ten minutes.
Slovenia is one of only five European countries in which the web portal of the national broadcaster ranks among the top 5 favourites, RTV Slovenija said.
Every day, MMC runs more than 150 radio and television shows that are broadcast in the national, regional, minority radio and television programmes and the parliamentary TV channel, which are also streamed online with a slight time delay.
Between 400 and 500 television shows are subtitled every month, with the online archive currently offering nearly 30,000 shows with subtitles.
MMC has 61 employees, of which almost half are journalists. The team also includes proofreaders, subtitlers, audio and video content operators, IT engineers, commercial and administrative staff. Its budget is 3% of the total RTV Slovenija budget.
