Curve of coronavirus infections keeps falling
Ljubljana - Slovenia reported 1,555 coronavirus cases for Monday, a decline of 9% from the same day a week ago as the total of estimated active cases dropped below 18,000 and hospitalisations kept falling. Five more Covid-19 patients died, according to official data.
Data released by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) shows the 7-day average of new daily cases fell to 1,186, down by 23 from the day before, and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people is now at 846, down by 19.
A total of 17,844 people are estimated to be actively infected, 400 fewer compared to yesterday's estimate.
The number of Covid-19 patients in hospital declined by another 31 to 665, with the number of ICU patients down by ten to 210. Ten patients with Covid-19 died, government data show.
Of the 4,973 PCR tests performed yesterday 31% were positive.
The number of people that have had their first dose of a Covid vaccine has risen to 1,243,261 (59% of the population) and 1,180,685 (56%) are now fully inoculated, while 397,339 have had booster jabs.
