Ljubljana - The average gross pay in Slovenia in October stood at EUR 1,886, while the average net pay was EUR 1,218. Both were up 0.7% nominally and down 0.2% in real terms compared to September, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.

The average gross pay was 2.4% higher in October compared to September, but only in the public sector, while it was 0.2% lower in the private sector.

In terms of specific activities, the highest average gross earnings were recorded in financial and insurance activities (EUR 2,644) and in electricity, gas and steam supply (EUR 2,643).

Meanwhile, the biggest increase in average gross earnings compared to September was recorded in cultural, entertainment and recreation activities (by 5%) and the biggest decrease in mining and quarrying (by 3.5%).
