Ljubljana - The epidemiological curve continued to drop in Slovenia on Tuesday, as the number of newly detected cases fell to 1,255, down in both daily and weekly comparisons. The test positivity rate was at 22.6%. The number of active cases is around 17,000, data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) shows.

Hospitalisation numbers are also down, with 649 Covid patients still in hospital, 16 fewer than yesterday, including 206 in intensive care, one fewer than yesterday. Six patients died, the government said.

The 7-day average of new daily cases fell to 1,145, down by 41 from the day before, and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people is at 818, down by 28.

A total of 17,256 people are estimated to be actively infected, 588 fewer compared to yesterday's estimate.
