Hikers can start walking at any point of the 35km-long hike that marks the perimeter of occupied Ljubljana. Those who manage the entire walk get a medal.

Apart from the 56th annual hike, 1,850 teams of three took part in several runs. 4,500 ran a 12.5km or a 29km course, while nearly 1,000 pupils and students ran a 3km-course.

On Thursday, kindergarten children walked segments of the route, followed by primary school pupils and secondary school students. On Monday, there will be a student run up Ljubljana Castle hill.
