Ljubljana - Slovenian software company Better has signed a contract with five London hospital districts that are part of the OneLondon health data-sharing system to use Better's digital health platform. The three-year contract is worth GBP 3.1 million or about EUR 3.7 million and comes with the possibility of a two-year extension.

"We're really pleased to have been selected as a tech partner for health institutions in London. Our platform will play a key role in continuing the process of digitising healthcare, based on data that is decoupled from applications and therefore available to existing and new healthcare services across the city," Better's founder and CEO Tomaž Gornik said.

OneLondon hospitals and health organisations will be switching to the new digital platform in the coming months.

The platform will enable the organisations to efficiently share and manage health and care data. The solution will eliminate duplication of data, improve data accessibility and enable shared care plans for health services providers.

This will establish the technological basis for the unification of health data and digital health records, allowing the rollout of new services in healthcare digitalisation both in London and across the entire UK, reads a press release by Better published on Tuesday.

The Ljubljana-based software company has provided digital solutions for the city of Moscow, HiGHmed, a consortium of nine of Germany's leading university hospitals, and Manchester's The Christie Hospital, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe.
