Willingen - Slovenian ski jumper Ema Klinec finished third in a World Cup event in Germany's Willingen on Saturday. Because of strong winds only the first round was carried out. The winner was Austria's Marita Kramer, who also tops the overall World Cup rankings, while Germany's Katharina Atlthaus was second.

Klinc was 8.2 points behind the winner despite boasting the longest jump of 127 metres, 3.5 metres longer than Kramer's. But she had the best wind conditions.

This is the fourth podium result for Klinec in individual events this season. She was also a part of the winning Slovenian mixed team on Friday.

"I'm very happy with today's jump. Compared to yesterday's training I'm managed a great signature jump, but I know I have to continue to work on that," Klinec said.

Other Slovenian representatives also did well in Willingen today, securing Slovenia the first place in the Nations Cup rankings for women. Austria is second and Germany third.

Nika Križnar was fifth today, Urša Bogataj seventh, Nika Prevc 11th and Špela Rogelj 18th. Jerneja Brecelj was disqualified.

In the overall World Cup standings, Bogataj is third with 561 points, followed by Klinec with 530. Križnar is fifth with 461 points. Kramer is in the lead with 870 points, followed by Althous with 618 points.

Another individual event is scheduled for tomorrow.
