Ljubljana - A total of 13,852 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Saturday, slightly fewer than the same day a week ago, but the 14-day notification rate per 100,000 has passed 8,000. Eleven more Covid-19 patients died, show official figures.

There are now 749 patients with Covid-19 treated in hospitals, up by 23 from yesterday. The figure includes 130 intensive care cases, six more than yesterday, it follows from the government data.

The 7-day average of new daily infections dropped by 45 to 14,025 but the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people rose by 372 to 8,005, figures from the National Institute of Public Health show.

The institutes estimates 168,740 people are actively infected in the country.

Of the 17,943 PCR tests performed yesterday, 77% returned positive results. Nearly 73,900 people were screened with rapid tests.
