Van Rompuy in Slovenia for Talks on Economy and EU Budget

Van Rompuy's visit comes in a time of uncertainty regarding Greece's membership in the eurozone and efforts to deal with the financial and economic crisis.

Van Rompuy will be in Slovenia for about five hours, starting at 10:30 AM when he is to meet Prime Minister Janez Janša.

He is also scheduled to hold talks with President Danilo Türk, Speaker Gregor Virant and former prime minister Borut Pahor.

The visit will be Van Rompuy's fifth in his capacity as president of the European Council. He first visited Slovenia on 1 December 2009, the day when the Lisbon Treaty entered into force.
