Dubai - Slovenia's food-processing industry will be promoted at the EXPO in Dubai on Monday as the Slovenian pavilion hosts a business forum of over 20 companies, which will be addressed by Agriculture and Food Minister Jože Podgoršek.

The companies will present best solutions in agriculture and food processing in Slovenia, and the role of the industry for the country.

They will also promote their products that could be interesting to the UAE and other markets in the Middle East, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) said.

Activities within the GZS-led long-term strategic research and innovation partnership for sustainable food production will also be outlined.

The visit aims at strengthening networking with potential partners, said the GZS, which co-organises Slovenian business delegations at EXPO.

The forum will be addressed by Minister Podgoršek, who will then visit the Gulfood food fair with the business delegation, which features 44 executives.

The GZS said the latest delegation rounds up a series of promotional campaigns to open the door of UAE and Middle Eastern markets for Slovenian food-processing firms.

Earlier, representatives of companies from logistics, wood-processing, digitalisation and advanced materials visited the UAE.
