Ljubljana - The number of new coronavirus cases in Slovenia on Tuesday stood at 2,372, and although it was up by 107 from yesterday, the steady drop continues as the number of new cases was down by 50% week-on-week.

There are currently 496 Covid patients in hospitals, down 15 from yesterday, including 98 in intensive care, two more than the day before, the government said on Twitter.

The number of other patients who are also infected with Covid dropped by 35 to 779. Ten more patients with Covid have died.

The National Institute of Public Health estimates there are still some 68,081 active cases in the country, around 2,700 fewer than the day before.

The 7-day average of new daily cases dropped by 328 to 3,002 and the 14-day notification rate per 100,000 was down by 129 to 3,226.
