Ljubljana - The Slovenian Computer Emergency Response Team (SI-CERT) has not detected any cyberactivity directly related to attacks on networks and systems in Ukraine, but it has drawn up a list of advice for safe work on the internet.

European cybersecurity response centres have been detecting attacks on networks and systems in Ukraine for weeks such as disabling attacks, malicious code attacks, the spread of fake new and creation of fake websites of Ukrainian state bodies, said SI-CERT.

The team will continue to closely monitor the situation, notifying providers of key services, other potentially threatened subjects and the general public on potential measures that might be necessary.

They urged everyone who thought they may have been targets of a cyberattack to report the incident to SI-CERT, and they have also drawn up instructions and advice for private and business users of ICT services to follow. The instructions are available on SI-CERT's website.

Noting invitations appearing in some countries for individuals to get involved in attacks on targets in Russian or Ukrainian networks, SI-CERT warned that installing unverified software may be the first step to abuse of the person's computer, and that the tool advertised to participate in the attack may contain backdoors.

It also warned that perpetrating such attacks may constitute a criminal offence under Slovenian law, regardless of the circumstances.
