Ljubljana - The number of new coronavirus cases dropped again both in weekly and daily comparisons to 1,836 in Slovenia on Tuesday, as just over 33,200 cases are estimated to be still active.

The 7-day average dropped by 75 from the day before to 1,707 and the 14-day notification rate per 100,000 was down by 135 to 1,574.

A 10% rise on the same day a week ago was recorded on Monday after weeks of steady decline, as 2,525 infections were reported by the National Institute of Public Health.

This morning, 330 patients were in hospital because of Covid, down 22 from yesterday, including 84 in intensive care, down five from the day before. Eight patients with Covid died, government data show.
