Pahor receives Ukrainian ambassador to Slovenia
Ljubljana - President Borut Pahor received Ukrainian Ambassador to Slovenia Mikhaylo Brodovych for a meeting on Wednesday. The pair expressed concern over the war in Ukraine, and the ambassador outlined to Pahor the current situation in Ukraine in the wake of Russia's invasion, Pahor's office said in a written statement.
Pahor pledged all possible available support for Ukraine and stressed that compared to the aggressor, Ukraine has all the moral advantage.
He again welcomed Ukraine's willingness to enter negotiations, saying that all diplomatic possibilities should be used to stop the aggression.
Before meeting the ambassador, Pahor said on Twitter that he wished for Ukraine and Russia to resolve the dispute in a peaceful manner.
Slovenia, juts like the international community, is united in its support for Ukraine, Pahor also told the ambassador.
He asked Brodovych to convey to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "his warm greetings and sincere admiration of his courage and the courage of the Ukrainian people in these hard times".
Pahor has in recent days already expressed support for Ukraine's EU membership, and promised support to Moldova in its efforts to help Ukrainian refugees.
