Daily case count down by nearly a quarter to 1,823
Ljubljana - Slovenia recorded 1,823 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, a decrease of nearly a quarter over the week before, as the Omicron-driven wave continues to slowly subside.
The 14-day case notification rate per 100,000 population dropped by almost 130 to 1,447, with the seven-day daily average of new cases declining to 1,640, a decrease of 67 on the day before, show figures by the National Institute of Public Health.
The number of active cases is estimated at just over 30,500, down by nearly 2,700 on the day before.
This morning, 307 patients were in hospital because of Covid, down 23 from yesterday, including 78 in intensive care, down eight from the day before. Ten patients with Covid died, government data show.
