Trebnje - Adria Mobil, a maker of caravans and motorhomes, has launched a new plant for the production of camper vans, an investment worth over four million euros.

The plans is located in the vicinity of Trebnje in a rented hall that burned down last year and had to be completely renovated.

Production started on Monday with one 140-staff shift. If the supply of inputs improves, a second shift will be launched for a total headcount of 200.

The plan is to produce 7,000 camper vans per year under the Adria and Sun Living brands, but production can be bumped up to over 10,000 units annually, Adria Mobil director general Sonja Gole told the press on Saturday.

Adria Mobil, owned since 2017 by Trivago of France, had the most successful year on record in 2021, the group having produced over 18,000 caravans and camper vans, according to Gole.

She said Adria Mobil now has a historically high market share of 9% on the European market for camper vans, and had captured 6.3% of the market for camper vans.
