Ljubljana - Slovenia recorded 2,803 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, the first time in three weeks that the daily case count dropped on the same day a week ago. Eight more patients with Covid-19 died, according to the Health Ministry.

Hospital figures dropped slightly, with 173 patients treated for Covid-19 this morning, three fewer than yesterday. The figure includes 32 in intensive care, six fewer than yesterday.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, the 7-day average of new cases fell by 23 from the day before to 2,878.

However, the 14-day incidence per 100,000 of the population is still up by 33 to 1,792 as is the overall number of estimated active cases, which rose by 581 to 37,824.

The latest infections were picked up from 1,330 PCR tests and 11,657 rapid antigen tests.
