Parents usually give their children a cell phone when they become less dependent on adults, the most common choice being a prepaid package, which allows monitoring of the expenses and refilling the account from a distance, while the user remains available even if the account is empty.

The main advantages of cell phone use among children, as seen by parents, are safety, the possibility to check on a child's whereabouts and the easier adapting of the family schedule, which is subject to constant change with today's fast way of life, Simobil wrote in a press release.
