Ljubljana - National motorway company DARS generated almost EUR 470 million in sales revenue in 2021, up from over EUR 398 million in 2020. The largest share of revenue - EUR 456 million - came from motorway tolls. Net profit almost doubled to EUR 112.7 million from EUR 59.5 million in 2020.

DARS did not specify as it posted its financials for 2021 on Thursday how much it made from toll sticker sales and how much from toll for trucks.

However, it said at the end of January, just before the full introduction of electronic vignettes, that the value of toll stickers sold between December 2020 and the end of November 2021 reached EUR 176.87 million.

Apart from motorway toll, DARS also generates revenue from resting place rentals, which last year increased by over EUR 1 million to EUR 8.3 million.
