The drop in the unemployment rate was driven by an increase in the number of persons in paid employment, which rose by 2,400 to 816,919, and a drop in the number of men registered as unemployed.

The male unemployment rate dropped 0.3 points to 11.3% and the female unemployment rate inched 0.1 points lower to 12.4%.

The highest unemployment rate was recorded in the eastern Pomursko region (17.3%) and the lowest in the northwestern Gorenjsko region (8.7%).
