Ljubljana - Prime Minister Janez Janša and the ministers from his Democrats (SDS) met on Friday with the leadership of the OZS chamber of small business, pledging further help and support to the small business sector. Janša also visited the Slovenian Business Club (SBC).

He highlighted a change in mentality as the key challenge in the coming period. "We need to change the education system, we need theory and practice to meet faster."

Janša urged further efforts to reduce tax wedge. He said he was aware how hard it was to get workers while it was at the same time hard to get rid of bad workers.

Janša believes that efforts should be made so that Slovenia's voice is heard when energy market rules are being made.

"What is good for France or Germany is not necessarily good for us. Electricity is so expensive because the formula to calculate the price is such that gas dictates the prices."

OZS president Branko Meh said the Janša government had performed well but that there were still a number of open questions to tackle, including a demand that retired workers would keep their full pension if they continue to work.

Janša also met with the SBC management board and took part in its election marathon, urging a prompt transition from crisis management to development management, the SDS said on Twitter.
