Ljubljana - A total of 1,297 infections with coronavirus were confirmed in Slovenia on Friday, which is 69 fewer than on Thursday and almost 43% less than on Friday last week. One person with a confirmed coronavirus infection died, the latest data shows.

The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) estimates that there are currently 23,132 active cases in the country, or 1,105 fewer than a day earlier.

The 7-day average of new cases also continues to drop, falling by 77 to 1,386 in a day, with the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people down by 53 to 1,093.

Health Ministry data shows that 104 patients are being treated for Covid-19 this morning at regular coronavirus wards, up 2 from yesterday morning, and another 17 need intensive care, which is the same as on Friday morning.
