Ljubljana - The coronavirus epidemic in Slovenia is on a continued decline, as 561 new cases reported for Saturday, down 28% on the week before, and hospital numbers dropping. Hospitalisations are meanwhile up slightly, and one person with a confirmed coronavirus infection died, the latest data shows.

Health Ministry data shows that 109 patients are being treated for Covid-19 this morning at regular coronavirus wards, up five from yesterday morning, while 18 need intensive care, one more than on Saturday morning.

The National Institute of Public Health estimates that there are currently 22,757 active cases in the country, or 375 fewer than a day earlier.

The 7-day average of new cases also continues to drop, falling by 3 to 1,353 in a day, with the 14-day incidence per 100,000 people down by 17 to 1,076.
