New coronavirus cases up in a day and week
Ljubljana - A total of 2,124 new coronavirus infections were confirmed in Slovenia on Tuesday, a rise from 1,604 cases a week ago, and up by as many as 1,667 cases from Monday, a bank holiday when fewer tests were carried out. Three infected patients died, data from the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) and Health Ministry shows.
105 patients are currently treated at regular Covid-19 wards, down 3 from yesterday, and another 18 in intensive care, 1 more.
The NIJZ estimates that there are now 19,255 active cases in the country, down 126 from yesterday.
The 14-day incidence per 100,000 people dropped by 7 to 908 in a day and the 7-day average of new infections increased by 78 to 1,097.
As many as 1,390 PCR tests and another 11,977 rapid antigen tests were carried out on Tuesday, as opposed to only 836 and 3,437 on Monday, respectively.
