Sarajevo - President Borut Pahor will attend the Sarajevo Business Forum on Wednesday as the opening panel's keynote speaker. Together with the Bosnian presidency, he will discuss bilateral relations and the situation in the Western Balkans, focusing primarily on Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Invited to the forum by Šefik Džaferović, Bosniak member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina presidency, Pahor will address the importance of political stability and its effects on the economic and social development of Bosnia-Herzegovina in light of the slow-paced EU enlargement process. He will also advocate for the country to receive EU candidate status, the president's office said.

Slovenia's president will also meet with members of the Bosnia-Herzegovina presidency to discuss the Western Balkans situation. The politicians will focus on the summit of the Brdo-Brijuni Process, which is to take place in Slovenia by the end of summer.

With Slovenia being one Bosnia-Herzegovina's key economic partners, Pahor's visit marks the continuation of political dialogue between the two countries at the highest level and reflects their excellent political and economic relations, a press release from the president's office reads, adding that Pahor also attended the Sarajevo Business Forum two years ago.

Held for the 11th year, the forum is a leading yearly business and politics event in the wider SE Europe region. It promotes economic cooperation and offers a platform for acquiring new business opportunities.
