Gaming Revenue in Decline
Gaming revenue had been on the increase in 2007, but then it edged lower before plunging by 6.6% in 2009 and 7.4% in 2010. The 1.2% drop last year is taken by the Office for Gaming Supervision to mean that the decline is flattening out.
At the end of last year Slovenia had nine casinos and 32 gaming parlours. Their licence fees netted EUR 77.8m last year, which is divided between the state, local communities, and humanitarian and sports organisations.
