FM Highlights Contribution to Overcoming Balkan War Legacy
Participating in a a debate on political and security challenges in post-conflict societies at the two-day forum, Erjavec highlighted the Slovenian-run ITF - Enhancing Human Security fund as an example of Slovenia's efforts to help the region return to normal life.
The ITF has been conducting its activities successfully for over ten years by helping clear Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo and other countries of land mines left from the conflict, he said.
Highlighting that conflicts truly end with reconciliation and forgiveness, Erjavec added that this can only happen after all those responsible for war crimes are brought before the courts.
Later in the day Erjavec is scheduled to meet his Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusić on the margins of the Dubrovnik event for talks dedicated to the issue of savings deposits at the defunct LB bank.
