Ljubljana - Slovenia logged 466 coronavirus infections on Wednesday in what is a 41% week-on-week rise. Covid cases have been steadily rising in the country for nearly two weeks as the BA.5 Omicron subvariant has been spreading. Hospitalisations remain stable for now, and no new Covid-related deaths were reported.

The total of patients treated for Covid-19 as their main condition in hospitals remains at 32, including five in intensive care, shows data by the Health Ministry.

The National Institute of Public Health estimates more than 4,200 people are actively infected in the country, up by some 650 on the same day a week ago.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population has risen in daily comparison by nine to 198, and the 7-day average of new cases is at 332, up by 21.
