Popularity of SocDem Up, Govt's Support Down

Some 23% of the respondents said they would vote the SD, up four percentage points over June. The SDS remains at 20%, while the biggest party in the National Assembly, the opposition Positive Slovenia (PS) follows with 19%, up two points.

Some 6% of the respondents said they supported the New Slovenia (NSi), up three points. Both the People's Party (SLS) and the Citizens' List (DL) are on the threshold of the National Assembly, as they each enjoy a rating of 4%.

As many as 70% of the respondents said the government was doing a poor job, three percentage points up from the previous month and 23 percentage points more than in February and March.

The survey also inquired which party the respondents would not vote for. Some 50% said they would definitely not choose the SDS, followed by the PS with 33%, the NSi at 19%, the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) with 16% and the DL and SLS at 8% each.

The poll was conducted between 10 and 18 July by Episcenter polling agency.
