Ljubljana - Slovenia confirmed 1,815 new coronavirus infections on Monday, up 33% week-on-week, in what is a new high since mid-April. Two Covid patients died, shows fresh official data.

The number of patients hospitalised with Covid as their primary condition remained broadly flat, with 31 in hospital altogether, down by seven week-on-week, including eight who are in intensive care, same as a week ago, Health Ministry figures show.

The 14-day case notification rate per 100,000 population topped 500, rising by 165 on the week before to 526.

The National Institute of Public Health estimates there are currently 11,170 active cases in the country.
