Print Media Face Drastic Decline in Readership

Nekategorizirano

Just like elsewhere in the western world, the Slovenian print media struggle with plummeting circulation and readership figures. In the period between 2004 and 2012, Delo's paid daily circulation fell from about 78,100 to 45,400 copies, Večer's from 50,800 to 31,100 and Dnevnik's from around 46,800 to 36,400 copies sold.

The only major dailies to avoid that trend, the freesheet Žurnal24 has seen its circulation increase from 98,800 in 2007 to 108,600 copies this year, while the financial newspaper Finance has managed to raise its paid circulation figures from 8,100 in 2004 to 11,200 in 2012.

However, the National Readership Survey shows that all dailies suffered a considerable drop in readership this year. Delo lost 2%, Večer 11%, Dnevnik 16% and Finance 22% of its readers.
