Ljubljana - Covid cases continue to be on the downward slope in Slovenia as 1,770 new infections were confirmed on Tuesday, down by 10% week-on-week. Three Covid patients died, fresh official data shows.

The number of patients in regular wards who are hospitalised for Covid-19 as their primary condition is at 86, three down on the previous day. The total of those needing intensive care has remained level at 14.

The 7-day average of new daily cases stands at 1,534, down by 24 over the day before, and the 14-incidence rate per 100,000 of the population has remained the same, totalling 1,065, shows data by the National Institute of Public Health.

The number of active cases in the country has decreased by ten to 22,554.
