Halifax - Slovenia's Anja Osterman has won silver at the Canoe Sprint World Championships, finishing a second behind Lisa Carrington of New Zealand in Sunday's 200-metre event.

This is the fourth medal at a World Championship for the 29-year-old but the first in an individual event.

Until this year she competed in the double with Špela Ponomarenko Janić, the pair having won two silvers and one bronze medal at World Championships.
