Weiler Abrasives profitable in 2021

Maribor - Weiler Abrasives, the US-owned maker of abrasives, brushes and diamond tools, saw sales revenue rise by 16% last year to EUR 77.5 million. After barely ending in the black in 2020, it posted a profit of just over EUR 4 million.

Among the company's major challenges last year was securing an adequate number o employees amidst the health crisis, which it did not manage to entirely realise due to labour shortages in the country.

It also faced rising input costs and supply-chain problems, issues that remain acute this year, chief executive Jože Kaligaro says in the company's annual report.

"In the economic and financial sense we exceeded plans... Sales growing by more than EUR 10 million and a nearly 80% increase in the cash flow ... have shown that we are a company with an excellent financial position even during a global crisis," he said.

Weiler Abrasives has three production locations in Slovenia, in Maribor, Zreče and Loče.
