Ljubljana - A total of 1,041 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Slovenia at the weekend, 17 fewer than the combined figure reported a week ago and six patients with Covid-19 died, data released by the Health Ministry shows.

Since Friday, a total of 2,654 new cases were confirmed, almost 7% fewer than in the same period a week ago, and seven deaths, which compares to ten a week ago.

A total of 113 patients were treated in hospitals for Covid-19 as their main condition as of Sunday, including 14 in intensive care. In all 293 hospitalised patients were infected with Covid. The figures have not changed much since Thursday.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, the 14-day case notification rate per 100,000 of the population is currently at 1,021 and the 7-day case average is at 1,443.
