Museum visitor numbers far below pre-Covid levels in 2021
Ljubljana - Slovenian museums and galleries recorder just under 1.3 million visitors last year, an improvement on 2020 but still far below pre-Covid levels.
The figure compares to under one million in 2020 and 2.8 million in 2019, show the latest figures released by the Statistics Office.
The 94 museums and galleries included in the tally put up almost 1,100 exhibitions, up from 893 the year before but still fewer than in 2019, when there were over 1,400 permanent and occasional exhibitions.
Nine in ten museums said the pandemic affected their activities, however, 73% said the impact of Covid was not as bad as in 2020.
