Industrial Output Up 3% in June

At the monthly level, industrial production in electricity, gas and steam supply rose by 8.5%, in manufacturing by 2.6% and in mining and quarrying by 1.4%.

Compared to June 2011, production was up by 27.8% in electricity, gas and steam supply, by 1.9% in mining and quarrying and by 0.7% in manufacturing.

In the first six months of the year, a decrease was registered in mining and quarrying (-1.9%) and in manufacturing (-0.5%), while an increase was recorded in electricity, gas and steam supply (+11%).

The monthly trends show an increase in all industrial groupings, in intermediate goods by 3.4%, consumer goods by 0.6% and capital goods by 0.3%.

At the yearly level, an increase was registered in the production of intermediate goods (by 3.6%), consumer goods (by 3.5%) and capital goods (by 2.4%).

In the January-June period, industrial production was up year-on-year for consumer goods (by 3.4%) and capital goods (by 1.7%), while it was down for intermediate goods (by 1.1%).

The value of inventories was down 0.5% compared to May and rose by 4.3% year-on-year. In the first six months, inventories were 6.8% higher than in the same period last year.
