Kayaker Srabotnik second in World Cup event in Spain
Seu d'Urgell - Slovenian kayaker Martin Srabotnik placed second in the ICF Canoe-Kayak Slalom World Cup final in La Seu d'Urgell in Spain on Saturday. Czech Jiri Prskavec won the event and the overall World Cup standings.
The 26-year-old Slovenian finished 21 hundredths of a second behind the winner. Another Czech kayaker, Vit Prindiš came in third with one touch and a lag of 0.37 seconds.
Srabotnik's teammate Peter Kauzer placed 7th (+4.47).
The only Slovenian kayaker to appear in the women's final was Ajda Novak, who finished 8th, 17.30 seconds behind the winner, Olympic and world champion Ricarda Funk of Germany.
