Ljubljana - Prime Minister Robert Golob has congratulated Liz Truss on becoming the new prime minister of the United Kingdom. "I'm convinced that we share a view on the importance of partnership between the EU, its member states and the UK," he tweeted on Tuesday.

Queen Elizabeth II appointed Truss, until now foreign secretary, as the new prime minister on Tuesday, a day after she was elected Conservative Party leader.

Truss succeeded Boris Johnson, who resigned as party leader in July amid scandals and stepped down as prime minister today.
