Modern Dance Takes Over Murska Sobota
Opening on Friday evening, the festival will see more than 300 dancers from across Europe in a number of events that will be staged until next Saturday.
The opening event will show the future of modern dance and dance as means of communication for the common people, choreographer Matjaž Farič has told the STA before the event.
The performance will feature pupils and pensioners, proving that modern dance is not meant just for top dancers and that it can connect generations, according to Farič.
Among the most notable events will be "LOL - Lots of Love" by British ensemble Protein, Les SlovaKs, a Slovakian and Belgian dance collective, will stage "Journey Home", while Liquid Loft from Austria will perform "Mush Room", a performance from their series "The Perfect Garden".
The festival will take the streets of Murska Sobota with "Bodies in Urban Spaces" by choreographer Willi Dorner and "Moving Gallery" choreographed by Ragnhild Olsen.
