Prime Minister Golob said he was deeply saddened as he sent condolences to Liz Truss, the new British prime minister, and the people of the UK. "Slovenia stands by you in these difficult times," he was quoted as saying on the government's official Twitter account.

Pahor said he was thankful for having had the chance to meet her, most recently at the Buckingham Palace in 2019, whereas Golob said her visit to Slovenia in 2008 would "stay in our hearts forever".
