Ljubljana - Vaccination against the flu will be free of charge for all Slovenian residents with health insurance this season after it was already free the last two seasons to better fight the coronavirus epidemic.

The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has ordered 250,000 doses of the flu vaccine for the coming season of respiratory infections, much fewer than last year when it bought 360,000.

The vaccine is expected to arrive in Slovenia in mid-September with the vaccination campaign to get under way in October, the Health Ministry has told the STA.

According to NIJZ's Marta Grgič Vitek, people can get the flu vaccine at the same time as the Covid-19 vaccination.
