Nearly 3,700 coronavirus cases confirmed since Friday

Ljubljana - Nearly 3,700 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Slovenia in the three days between Friday and Sunday, with four coronavirus-infected patients dying.

The seven-day average of confirmed cases was at 2,045 on Sunday, one down from Saturday. The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people is currently at 1,222, nine more than the day before.

On Sunday, 72 Covid patients were hospitalised, with an additional six treated in intensive care units, according to the Health Ministry.

The number of all coronavirus-infected patients in the country was at 190 on Sunday, 2 fewer than the day before and three more than on Friday. This number includes those hospitalised because of Covid and coronavirus-infected patients treated for other issues.

The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) estimates the number of active coronavirus cases at 25,770, 185 more than the day before.

Over 1,266,500 people have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine in 2-million Slovenia, while nearly 1,223,000 have been fully vaccinated, according to NIJZ data. 660,300 people have received one booster and just under 13,730 have received two boosters.
