Ljubljana - A total of 1,953 coronavirus infections were recorded in Slovenia on Thursday, down about 10% compared to a week ago. Hospitals treated 71 patients for Covid at regular wards yesterday and nine in intensive care. No Covid patient died, according to the Health Ministry.

In total, 196 hospital patients were infected with coronavirus yesterday, 10 more than the day before, and 14 patients needed intensive care, the same as on Wednesday.

According to the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), the 7-day average of new cases is now at 1,990, down 33 from the day before and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 of the population increased by 17 to 1,329.

The NIJZ estimates there are currently 27,995 active infections in the country, which is 351 more than the day before.
