Mediana poll shows Pirc Musar in lead
Ljubljana - The most recent poll by the pollster Mediana commissioned by the newspaper Delo and broadcaster POP TV shows presidential candidate Nataša Pirc Musar leading the polls with 28%, followed by Anže Logar with 23%, while Milan Brglez, who decided to enter the race only this week, is in third place with 9%.
Logar, an MP for the Democrats and former foreign minister, is closing his gap to lawyer and former information commissioner Pirc Musar.
While both frontrunners have seen their figures decrease since early September, Logar's have gone down only a fraction. At the start of the month, Pirc Musar polled at 31.3%, while Logar was at 23.3%.
The poll shows Kočevje Mayor Vladimir Prebilič in place four with 5%, followed by former MEP and foreign minister Ivo Vajgl with 4%.
Janez Cigler Kralj, an MP for New Slovenia (NSi) and former labour minister, is in fifth place with 3%, while the rest of the candidates polled even lower.
Out of 729 respondents who took part in the poll carried out between 19 and 22 September 11% said they were undecided. 5% said they would not vote for any of the candidates, while 2% said they would not cast heir ballot at all.
1% of the respondents did not wish to answer, while another percent said they would rather support a person who is not among the candidates.
