Ljubljana - Slovenia recorded 2,729 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, an increase of 12% over the week before as the number of patients admitted to hospital continued to grow. One patient with Covid died.

Health Ministry data show there were 87 patients in hospital due to Covid, up five on the day before, whereas the number of ICU cases increased by one to ten.

The 14-day case notification rate per 100,000 population rose marginally to 1,375, whereas the seven-day average of daily cases stood at almost 2,092, up by 45 on the day before.

The number of active cases has approached 29,000, according to the National Institute of Public Health.
