Ljubljana - A total of 2,297 coronavirus infections were confirmed in Slovenia on Thursday, which compares to 1,953 a week ago. Hospitals treated 84 patients for Covid at regular wards yesterday, 13 more than last Thursday, and nine in intensive care, three more than a week ago. Two Covid patients died, according to the Health Ministry.

According to the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), the 7-day average of new cases is now at 2176, up 49 in a day, while the 14-day incidence per 100,000 of the population increased by 5 to 1,391.

The NIJZ estimates there are currently 29,303 active infections in the country, 109 more than in Thursday's estimate.
