The match, in which Maribor were looking for their first Champions League berth in 13 years, was sealed with a controversial goal by Dinamo already in the 12th minute.

Maribor's chances have been few and far between, and it was the Croatian side who led the match that was played in front of some 12,400 spectators.

The Slovenian team showed a strong performance in the rivals' home town last Wednesday but nevertheless lost the first qualifier 2:1.
