Emonska Promenada Street Festival Begins Tonight
Starting tonight at 6 PM and closing each evening at 9 PM, the festival will bring 27 shows performed by 11 Slovenian and six foreign ensembles.
The classic street theatre highlights for this year include the Italian acrobat family Teatro Viaggiante and clown and acrobat Urana Marcesini.
Making his first appearance in Trnovo will be Mr. Punch, the legend of traditional puppet theatre, who will be supported by the Storybox theatre from London.
Vita Marčika, a theatre from Prague, will give a traditional Czech puppet theatre performance of Snow White, Anpu Theatre, also from the Czech Republic, will be performing for one spectator at a time, while Oskar (Tom Greder) from Switzerland will engage in object theatre.
A special focus will be given this year to Slovenian puppet theatre. Artists from Zapik, Labirint and Hiša otrok (The House of Children) will be delighting young audiences, while evening shows for grown ups will be given by Matija Solce, Barbara Bulatovič and the Gledališče Moment theatre.
Moreover, art market stands will be put up at the venue, also featuring Slovenian craftsmanship and a zoo. Creative worships and cinema for the youngest are on the programme as well.
