Ljubljana, 23 October - Partial results after nearly 60% of votes counted put former Democrats (SDS) foreign minister Anže Logar and lawyer Nataša Pirc Musar in the second round of the presidential election. The former netted some 34% and the latter 27%.

Both have run as independents, but enjoyed the support of political parties - Logar's bid has been backed by the opposition SDS and non-parliamentary People's Party (SLS), whereas Pirc Musar has been supported by the non-parliamentary Pirate Party and Youth Party - European Greens.

In third place is MEP Milan Brglez, the joint candidate of the coalition SocDems and Freedom Movement, at some 16%, followed by Kočevje Mayor Vladimir Prebilič, whose bid has been supported by the non-parliamentary party Vesna, at 10%.

Gynaecologist Sabina Senčar, who enjoys the support of the non-parliamentary party Resni.ca, is fifth (about 6%), opposition New Slovenia's (NSi) candidate Janez Cigler Kralj is sixth (4%), and coalition Left's candidate Miha Kordiš is last (3%).

Turnout is currently at almost 44% but is likely to rise as more votes are counted.
